Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) head Maulana Awais Noorani Sunday said that the rigging had been done and his party was also a victim of it but now whoever has the mandate should be given the government.
He addressed a press conference after a meeting of the JUP's central executive body held under his chairmanship.
Maulana Awais Noorani said that the worst injustice happened to us in the elections, we were also deprived of the right to count our votes.
Maulana Awais Noorani has said that by experimenting again and again, the country has been brought to such a level that no one is ready to take the power of the country, and the institutions have become worthless and the respect of individuals has ended.
He said the internet that brought awareness to the world has turned out to be a factory of lies and propaganda in Pakistan.
Maulana Noorani said if Shahbaz Sharif does not have a majority in the parliament, then he should not sit in the government and if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) has a mandate, then power should be given to it.
He also said that the country needs truth and reconciliation, not NRO and if the Grand Dialogue does not take place, nothing will come to anyone's hands in Pakistan.
Due to the absence of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), the role of religious parties has been affected, he admitted.
To a query, he said sitting with Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslameen (MWM) is an internal matter of PTI.
Maulana Awais Noorani said they will reorganize and reorganize the JUP. He also announced that he would send his resignation to the centre and the four provincial presidents and the general secretary will submit their resignations too.
