Minister of State for Finance Ayesha Ghous Pasha has declared that “tough decisions” need to be taken if Pakistan wants revival of the IMF programme, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The minister said that the government desired early revival of IMF programme and is even ready to accept its “conditionalities”.
Talking to newsmen in Islamabad on Thursday, Ayesha Pasha said “We want restoration of IMF programme as soon as possible, so that the common man is not burdened further. The government wanted to target the elite.”
The minister said Pakistan was successful in removing a number of reservations of the IMF. She, however, said the IMF wanted to take the government in “other direction”.
She said all sectors and groups will bear the brunt.
