Punjab Police and Interpol arrest 9 dangerous criminals in UAE

A joint international operation by the Punjab Police Special Operations Cell and Interpol Islamabad has led to the arrest of nine dangerous proclaimed offenders in the UAE, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.


These individuals wanted for murder and other serious crimes, were apprehended and are now being transported back to Pakistan.


According to a spokesperson for the Punjab Police, the arrested criminals include Irfan Asghar, Farhan Nazakat, Samar Abbas, Najibullah, Saddam Hussain, Muhammad Rafiq, Muhammad Saqib, Muhammad Usman, and Tariq Mehmood.


Muhammad Rafiq is wanted by Dera Ghazi Khan police since 2011 for civilian murder and terrorism.


Tariq Mehmood is wanted by Faisalabad police for 14 years for the murder of a citizen.


Irfan Asghar is wanted by Sialkot police for murdering his wife and hiding her body.


Farhan Nazakat is wanted by Qila Didar Singh Gujranwala Police for two years for the murder of a 16-year-old boy.


Samar Abbas is wanted by Pakpattan police for three years for the murder of a citizen in Arifwala.


Najibullah is wanted by Dera Ghazi Khan police for ten years for the murder of a citizen.


Saddam Hussain has been wanted by the Bhakkar police since 2018 for robbery.


Muhammad Saqib is wanted by Sialkot Police for one year for murder.


Muhammad Usman is wanted by Sialkot Police for four years for the murder of a citizen.


The spokesperson said the Punjab Police team has already departed from Abu Dhabi and is expected to arrive at Lahore Airport tonight at 8 pm.


This year alone, the total number of proclaimed offenders arrested from foreign countries has reached 59. The Punjab Police have been proactive, issuing red notices through Interpol and persistently following up to ensure these arrests.


Punjab IG, Dr. Usman Anwar, congratulated the team, including RPO Gujranwala Tayyab Hafeez Cheema and CPO Gujranwala Rana Ayaz Saleem, for their tremendous success. He emphasized that all offenders should face legal consequences and directed an intensified crackdown to arrest other dangerous proclaimed offenders with the cooperation of Interpol and FIA.
