Vehicles stuck in Sara-i-Alamgir traffic jam as trench to block TLP march caves in

Vehicles were stranded in several kilometer-long queues on both sides of Sarai Alamgir GT Road after a trench dug to stop the march of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) caved in, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
There was a severe traffic jam on all three bridges of Jhelum River.
A trench was dug near Jhelum Toll Plaza to stop TLP’s Pakistan Bachao March on Islamabad from Karachi.
The trench was several feet deep and wide. After an agreement was reached between the government and the TLP, the GT Road was opened for traffic by filling up the trench.
However, the trench caved in after it rained heavily the other night. The rainwater accumulated in the trench, and the vehicles stuck in the swamp.
Following that, the vehicles were stranded in long queues on GT Road from Dinah to Kharian and remained stuck in a traffic jam for several hours.
The trench was being filled up by the motorway police.
