The PML-N on Thursday decided to file references against the three rebel MPAs who had met Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and expressed their confidence in the ruling party’s leadership.
The move is quite opposite to what Nishat Daha, one of the rebel MPAs, had said, as he had dared those talking about expelling them for the party. No one can expel them from the party, Daha claimed.
A meeting of PML-N Punjab Advisory Council chaired by Rana Sanaullah reviewed the replies submitted by Nishat Daha, Ashraf Ansari and Ghayasuddin to the show-cause notices, declaring these as unsatisfactory.
Expelling the said MPAs, the meeting decided to file references [with the Election Commission of Pakistan to de-seat them] besides launching other legal proceedings.
However, the advisory council decided that the other rebel MPAs would be summoned before the disciplinary committee.
Earlier, Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz had promised strict action against the rebels.
He said the PML-N didn’t comprise of the rented people and everything would become clear when elections were held.
Similarly, senior PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal had described the rebel MPAs as old turncoats.
Meanwhile, Azma Bokhari, one of the most active PML-N leaders, in a video message shared by party workers on Twitter, too called for de-seating the MPAs.
It worth noting that some MPAs of PML-N and PPP from Punjab had held a meeting with Buzdar who said the PTI government would give respect to them as the public issues were to be resolved on an urgent basis.
