Ship-breaking activities suspended at Gaddani Shipyard

All ship-breaking activities at Gaddani Shipyard have been suspended until further orders amid pandemic coronavirus fears.

Balochistan Development Authority (BDA) which is the controlling authority of Gaddani Ship Breaking Yards and surrounding community imposed a ban on boarding and breaching of vessels at Gaddani Shipyard until further orders.

All ship-breakers are advised to strictly comply with the order, the authority said.

It is pertinent to note that the yard consists of 132 ship-breaking plots located across a 10km-long beachfront at Gaddani, district Lasbela in Balochistan.
