Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi resolves nationwide passport backlog

Under the directive of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the nationwide issue of passport backlog has been successfully resolved, reported 24NewsHD TV Wednesday.
The Director General (DG) Passport team has cleared the backlog in all major cities, ensuring the timely issuance of passports.
In Islamabad, 14,673 passport cases were resolved, while Karachi saw 83,227 passports issued. Lahore Garden Town cleared 30,848 cases, Raiwind 4,872, and Shadman 11,490. Other cities such as Quetta, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar also dealt with thousands of pending cases, including 7,252, 18,400, and 23,145 respectively.
Citizens across the country received 5,650 urgent passports and 15,848 for home delivery, while 17,972 normal and 41,712 urgent passport cases processed through embassies were also cleared.
DG Passport Mustafa Jamal Qazi confirmed that the "passport backlog has been zeroed out in all major cities" and efforts are underway to completely eliminate the issue across the country. Staff are working around the clock to ensure the timely issuance of passports.
