A sub-inspector (SI) and an investigation officer (IO) in Lahore ended up in a police lock-up for sending a man arrested in a case of narcotics home instead of jail in complete defiance of the court order, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

According to reports, Jawad Alam, an investigation officer (IO) in the case in connivance with Arsalan, a SI, had sent the suspect named Fazlur Rehman, who had been arrested by Wahdat Colony police, home, but the truth eventually came to light when the man appeared in court to seek an interim bail for the second time.

Earlier, the IO had produced Fazl in a court which ordered that he be sent to jail.

But instead of complying with the court order, Jawad, in collusion with the SI, instead of locking him up sent him home instead.
