Another lawmaker of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from Sindh revolted against the party on Monday, just hours before the Senate election.
Member of the Sindh Assembly Shahar Yar Khan Shar refused to vote for the PTI candidate for the Senate seat. He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had no policy for Sindh. He said the prime minister did not own Sindh therefore he would not stand by him in the Senate election, which is scheduled to take place on March 3.
Shar rejected PTI MPA Khurrum Sher Zaman’s claim that three lawmakers of his party were kidnapped on Monday by the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), which is in power in Sindh. Shar, who was elected a member of the Sindh Assembly from Ghotki, said there was no truth in Khurrum’s claims.
Earlier, PTI MPA Aslam Abro also announced he would not vote for the party candidate for the Senate seat. He said he would in the Senate election according to the voice of his conscience.
