14-member Balochistan cabinet takes oath at last

The long-delayed oath-taking of the Balochistan cabinet took place in Quetta on Friday in which 14 ministers were sworn in by the governor, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


The ceremony was held at the Governor’s House in Quetta wgere Governor Abdul Wali Kakar administered oath to the cabinet members, marking their official induction into office more than a month after the chief minister’s oath-taking.


The ministers who took oath were Zia Langau, Tariq Magsi, Shoaib Nosherwani, Raheel Durrani, Sadiq Umrani, Ali Madad Jattak, Zahoor Buledi, Noor Muhammad Dumar, Sardar Faisal Jamali, Sarfraz Domki, Abdul Rehman Khetran, Saleem Khosa, Asim Kurd Gello, and Bakht Kakar.


Earlier, on March 2, Mir Sarfraz Bugti of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was sworn in as the chief minister of Balochistan. After assuming office, Chief Minister Bugti had indicated that the cabinet formation would follow the Senate elections.


It’s noteworthy that the newly elected MPAs of the Balochistan Assembly took their membership oaths in a session chaired by the presiding officer Engineer Zamrud Khan on February 28.
