Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to start a protest campaign from Faisalabad against alleged rigging in general elections by the incumbent government, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
PTI Punjab Chapter General Secretary Hammad Azhar while sharing his post on social media platform X said that PTI’s 26-member committee approved the start of the protest drive in Punjab.
He said on the advice of Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Faisalabad was chosen for the start of the protest drive.
Hamad Azhar further said that local party workers have been tasked with starting preparation for the protest movement.
He further added that the final dates of the protest drive will be announced shortly after due consultation with the PTI founder.
Earlier, PTI announced plans for a countrywide movement against alleged election rigging, slated to commence on April 13 from Balochistan.
PTI contends that the incumbent government manipulated election results, altering Form 47s to favour Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
