Nomads overjoyed as gypsy woman elected councilor in Bannu

For the first time in the history of Bannu, a gypsy woman has been elected as councillor, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
The gypsy woman, Shamshad Begum, has been elected councillor in the neighbourhood election on the women seats. There was a cheerful and festive mood in the huts of the gypsy people after one of their ilks has made it to the isles of politics to raise a voice for them.
Talking to the media, Shamshad said that she had come out of her dwelling to solve the problems of the gypsies. She said they have been living in Bannu for a long time and people respect them.
