Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan Wednesday apologised in a district and sessions court of Islamabad in the lady judge threat case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

“I apologise if my statement offended anyone. I said about taking legal action [against the lady judge] in a fit of passion during a speech in a rally,” the PTI chairman said in the court.

“I apologise if I have crossed a line. I had also gone to the court of lady judge Zeba Chaudhry to apologise to her for my words,” he added.

Judicial Magistrate Malik Aman heard the case. “In all cases, the plaintiff, respondent and investigation officer are the police,” Imran Khan’s lawyer Salman Safdar told the court.

“Without seeing the material, it was said that the petitioner should join the investigation. The petitioner said about taking legal action against the lady judge. He also went to her court, but she was not there,” he added.

“If someone says that he wants to file a case against someone, what is wrong with it? If the petitioner has apologised to the judge, what is left now?” he pointed out.

“This is a case made on political grounds,” Salman Safdar completed his arguments in the court.

“The IHC had given the judgment to the extent of 7-ATA only. The trial will reveal what action they should have taken,” the prosecutor told the court.

“Who else was there on duty apart from the AC?” the judge questioned.

“In this case, there were other officers too apart from the AC,” the prosecutor told the court.
