Omar Ayub urges journalists to stand up for 'right and truth'

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and opposition leader Omar Ayub Khan said there is a dire need for local investment to propel the national economy forward, urging local investors to take the initiative, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
Addressing a Federal Union of Journalists meeting in Gujranwala, he urged the journalist community to stand up for the right and the truth.
Omar Aoub condemned the terrorist attack in Bannu. He also criticized the recent shootings in Bannu, calling for a thorough investigation into the firing during the peace march.
Omar Ayoub mentioned that all opposition political parties, under the leadership of Mahmood Khan Achakzai, are working together to navigate the country’s challenging times.
Ayub revealed that Shah Mahmood Qureshi is being transferred from Adiala Jail to Kot Lakhpat Jail.
He praised leaders like Sanam Javed, Alia Hamza, and Yasmin Rashid for their unwavering resolve in the face of adversity.
Ayub also disclosed that the Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) had revealed to the Senate Committee that their IT system had malfunctioned, exacerbating the economic crisis.
Ayub criticized the government for its failure to purchase wheat from Punjab's farmers, leaving them in a precarious situation.
He claimed that the government had lost control over critical issues, highlighting the kidnapping of Moazzam Jatoi, which the Speaker was unaware of for two days.
He asserted that the country belongs to all Pakistanis, not any single individual, and emphasized the importance of patriotism and unity.
Ayub called on Justice Qazi Faez Isa to refrain himself from cases involving Imran Khan and PTI.
He praised the public for breaking free from the chains of fear and criticized the police for their violent actions against peaceful protesters.
“The economic challenges remain severe, with the government presenting a budget of 19 trillion rupees while facing a deficit of 8.5 trillion rupees.”
He predicted that electricity prices are expected to rise, reaching up to 100 rupees per unit in the next two months, and subsidies on Sui gas bills have been eliminated.
Ayub reaffirmed their electoral mandate, emphasizing that they were elected through votes, not appointed through other means.
Despite numerous FIRs, he vowed to remain undeterred and ready to face more legal challenges.
Omar Ayub also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the workers present at the event, acknowledging their courage and dedication. He praised their determination to break the hotel's siege.
He commended their bravery in standing up against state oppression and emphasized the critical role of education in empowering the nation.
