Punjab CM commends officers for Muharram security arrangements

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif Saturday chaired a video link meeting with ministers, Cabinet Committee on Law and Order, commissioners, deputy commissioners, RPOs and DPOs, held in connection with security arrangements during Muharram, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Inspector General of Police (IG), Home Secretary and other officers also participated in the video link meeting.

In the meeting, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz praised the security arrangements during Muharram.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for the first time called the provision of ‘Niaz’ at the government level commendable.

Maryam Nawaz said my team made her proud by making great arrangements during Muharram.

Before Ashura Day, the ministers personally went and met the scholars and the scholars of each school of thought were taken into confidence, Maryam Nawaz said.

She said that law and order was ensured by following the instructions. Maryam Nawaz said ministers, officers and police remained in the field day and night.

Drone monitoring of large processions has been beneficial and security arrangements without shutting down mobile phone and internet services is a huge success, Maryam Nawaz said.

Immediate arrest of those responsible for the incident in Sheikhupura was ordered, Maryam Nawaz said.

She also appreciated the traffic arrangements saying traffic management across Punjab was also satisfactory.

Maryam Nawaz said during Muharram, there was an excellent display of cooperation between the police and other institutions.

She said that the sprinkling of rose water on Muharram processions was a good practice and cleaning the routes with electric speed after the procession was also a good practice.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif said the administration and police in all the districts worked with interest and met the challenge.

The CM said the Shia scholars expressed their gratitude for the Muharram arrangements.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said success in every task is due to team efforts.

Ministers, Cabinet Committee, Home Secretary, IG, Commissioners and all worked hard, Maryam Nawaz appreciated.

She said police officers put themselves at risk to protect others and government will provide all available resources for police protection.

The news of the martyrdom of any security official is always heavy on the heart, Maryam Nawaz said.

The Chief Minister said in the coming days, foolproof arrangements will be made to improve law and order.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif said government will provide possible facilities to pilgrims going to Iran and Iraq.

Senator Pervez Rasheed, Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Zahid Bukhari, Chairperson CM Elevation Cell Brigadier (retd) Babar Alauddin and other officials were also present on the occasion.
