Boat tragedy: DNA sample collection of missing persons’ families starts in G’wala

The DNA sample collection of family members of people got missing during the Greek boat tragedy last week has started in Gujranwala, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The process of submitting applications by the family members of lost/drowned persons is also continuing.
The Punjab forensic team has also set up a desk at Federal Investigation Agency to where it sends the DNA samples for identification.
According to the FIA, samples of 25 families have been taken so far.
The DNA samples of the family members are being taken to identify the missing persons.
The FIA said that the families which belong to remote areas, their samples will be taken tomorrow morning.
FIR registered against agent
FIA, Gujranwala, has registered another case against an agent named Zafar on the complaint of the father of a missing youth.
According to the FIR, the agent promised to the send the complainant’s son to Italy via Dubai and Libya.
FIA Additional Director Qaiser Makhdoom said that agent Zafar demanded Rs2.3 million from the complainant to send his son to Italy.
The agent took Rs2 million from the father in two instalments and then Rs300,000 in third instalment.
Agent Zafar is a resident of tehsil Nowshera Varkan.
The Federal Investigation Agency Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Gujranwala Monday decided to arrest foreign agents with the help of International Police (Interpol).
The FIA's additional regional director stated that the accused had been involved in human trafficking through their agents in Pakistan, adding that their arrests would be carried out after red warrants by Interpol.
The FIA has formed six teams to arrest the local agents, and they will report to the additional director after every two hours. The teams are in full action, and they have been conducting raids across the country to arrest the main culprits.
An agent, Azmat Ali, who belonged to Sialkot was arrested by the FIA anti-trafficking Gujranwala circle. He had taken Rs1.7 million from the victim named Ahsan Sheraz for sending him to Europe.
