Seat adjustment for the nomination of a joint candidate for by-election in NA-249, Karachi has been delayed due to the differences within the opposition parties’ alliance, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

The 24News TV channel has learned that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has once again decided to award ticket to Advocate Abdul Qadir Mandokhel for the seat. Not only that, but the party’s high command has also directed its workers to hold corner meetings for the purpose.

The development has prevented the formation of an electoral alliance between PPP, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F).

PPP Sindh General Secretary Waqar Mehdi has said that the party has nominated its candidate, and if the PML-N contacts the party’s high command for the nomination of a joint candidate, it will consider it.
