PTI seeks MQM-P support for by-election on NA-249 in Karachi

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has sought the support of Muttahida Quami Movement-Pakistan for the by-election on NA-249 in Karachi.
A PTI delegation led by Khurrum Sher Zaman called upon MQM-P leader Kanwar Naveed Jameel and sought support for the ruling party candidate in the by-polls. Kanwar Jameel said the Rabta Committee will take the final decision.
On March 11, The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced the schedule of by-elections in the NA-249 constituency of Karachi which was vacated by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda after winning the Senate polls.
Khurrum told the media after the meeting with the MQM-P leader that they made a request to the MQM-P for backing the PTI in the by-polls.
Kanwar said Prime Minister Imran Khan assured them of keeping his word during a meeting, however, the Rabta committee will take the final decision on backing the PTI in by-polls He said he underwent a coronavirus test after his meeting with PM Imran Khan.
