Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Vice President and Senator Sherry Rehman said Friday that the details of loans issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) was a charge sheet against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

“According to the SBP details, the country’s total debt in the last 70 years was Rs29,000 billion,” she said.

“But the country’s total debt exceeded Rs53,000 billion during the worst four-and-a-half-year tenure of ‘Buhran Khan’,” she added.

“Imran Khan used to say I will commit suicide but not take loan. But after coming to power, Imran Khan borrowed more than Rs23,000 billion,” Sherry flayed.

“Now, Imran Khan in public meetings accuses past governments of pushing the country into debt. He has got Pakistan trapped in the quagmire of foreign debts but chanting slogans of freedom and dignity,” she castigated.

“The double standards of PTI has now been exposed,” she stated.
