A desperate PTI Chairman pleaded a member of the US Congress to extend him some support by condemning the “worst crackdown” against him and his party, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A purported audio leak of PTI chief Imran Khan and US Congresswoman Maxine Moore Waters on Saturday suggests that the former Pakistani prime minister was seeking help from American who he had held responsible for ousting of his PTI government in the recent past.
Depicting Pakistan’s current political scenario as horrible as he could during the audio talk on Zoom, Imran solely blamed the former army chief for the success of no-confidence vote against him. Without mentioning any evidence, he held the army and other institutions for the assassination attempt on his life.
The former prime minister labelled the ongoing mass arrests of PTI workers as “worst crackdown”.
He termed the economic performance of his government as the best which was obviously a “white lie”. He, however, said the economic gains of his government were unmatchable in the 75-year history of Pakistan.
