Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) made all preparations for the Lahore public meeting at Minar-e-Pakistan on Saturday evening, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Friday.
According to the channel, each member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has been tasked with bringing at least 500 workers with them.
As per the plan, convoys from various regions, including Peshawar, Hazara, South, and Malakand, will set off from Swabi Interchange on the motorway.
KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur will lead the procession from Swabi to Lahore. The convoys will also bring heavy machinery to clear any roadblocks encountered along the way.
After gathering at Swabi at 9 am, the convoys will head towards Hakla Interchange, where they will merge with other groups from Rawalpindi and Islamabad before making their way to Lahore.
CM Ali Amin Gandapur has announced a major rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on September 21, aimed at achieving "true freedom" from what he calls a corrupt mafia and mandate thieves.
He urged the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to join him, leading convoys to Lahore for the rally. Gandapur called on citizens to come out of their homes and take part in the movement, emphasising that the time had come to free the nation from the current government's rule.
Sources revealed that Gandapur held meetings with cabinet members and regional leaders to ensure strong participation in the Lahore public meeting of the PTI on Saturday evening.
PTI founder Imran Khan claimed that the PTI rally in Lahore on September 21 will be historic. He urged the PTI leadership, workers, and the nation to come out for their rights.
Talking to journalists in Adiala Jail, Imran Khan said the protest was the basic right of the masses, and if the government tried to stop the rally, PTI workers and masses would fill the jails. He urged the masses not to worry about jails.
On the other hand, on the directives of the Punjab government, police in Lahore continue to raid the homes and outhouses of the PTI leaders and workers in order to prevent a large gathering at the party’s rally scheduled to be held in the city on September 22, reported 24NewsHD TV channel yesterday.
According to the PTI’s spokesman, a large contingent of police raided the party leader Ali Adnan’s outhouse in Fatehgarh, resorted to vandalism, and even broke the locker of Munshi’s office and stole Rs 235,000 from it.
Similarly, he informed the Force that it had raided party leader Jibran Haider Shah’s home in PP-151; however, it had failed to arrest him. Police also raided the party worker Waseem Malik’s home; however, he was not present at home, the spokesman said.
It is worth mentioning here that a PTI leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar has already filed a petition in the Lahore High Court (LHC), seeking the court order for the police to refrain from arresting party leaders and workers ahead of the public meeting.
Pertinent to mention here that yesterday, LHC Justice Abid Hussain Chattha barred authorities from arresting PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja.
The LHC has granted interim bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, preventing his arrest until September 23.
