FIR of yesterday’s suicide attack on foreigners in Karachi registered

The FIR of the suicide attack on the vehicle carrying five foreigners at Karachi’s Mansehra Colony, which took place yesterday, was registered today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
The case was registered on the complaint of SHO Sharafi Goth at CTD police station of the city in which sections related to murder, attempt to murder, anti-terrorism and the Explosive Act were inserted.
According to the investigators, the attack in Mansehra Colony and the one carried out on Karachi Police Office are similar in nature.
They have said that even arms and explosives recovered from the terrorists were the same.
On the other hand, CCTV camera footage of terrorists doing recce two days before the attack has also surfaced in which they could be seen changing the direction of cameras.
As per the geo-fencing of the terrorists, both the attackers were in contact with some people in Hub and Quaidabad.
Investigators have informed that evidence has been found of the involvement of a banned outfit in yesterday’s suicide bombing.
According to a policeman, who fought against the assailants, the latter planned to engage the law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) in a long battle. “But we gave them a befitting response,” he added.
On the other hand, police personnel, who are in high spirits despite yesterday’s terrorist attack, have started conducting raids for the arrest of accomplices of the terrorists.
Sindh IGP announces cash awards, certificates for police team
Sindh IGP Ghulam Nabi Memon has announced cash awards and certificates for the cops who retaliated and thus saved the lives of foreigners.
The top police official has said that Qasim Habib, the cop who led the fight from the front, will be handed a cheque of Rs500,000.
He has also recommended that he be honoured with ‘Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal.
A security guard was martyred and two terrorists were killed in a gunbattle which followed an early morning suicide attack on a vehicle carrying foreigners in Karachi on Friday.
A police team, escorting the foreign nationals, foiled the terrorist attack in Mansehra Colony of Landhi, with all the guests remained unhurt.
A heavy contingent of Rangers and police led by SSP Malir Tariq Mastoi rushed to the attack site and cordoned off the whole area, launching an operation to hunt down the attackers.
The security personnel also seized a bag full of grenades and Kalashnikovs from the scene.
"It was a targeted attack, five Japanese officials were on their way to the export processing zone as per their routine," Abrar Hussain, a Karachi police spokesperson, told AFP. "The suicide bomber died detonating the bomb, while the second one was killed in crossfire."
Japan's top government spokesman Yoshimasa Hayashi said "One Japanese national was confirmed injured".
Japan has "issued an alert to Japanese nationals living in Pakistan in response to the incident," he added.
