PPP demands financial compensation for victims of Jaranwala tragedy

A high-profile delegation of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Sunday met the affected people of the Christian community in Jaranwala and demanded financial compensation for the victims.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the PPP delegation was comprised of Vice President Senator Sherry Rehman, Secretary General Syed Nair Hussain Bukhari, Faisal Karim Kundi, Nadeem Afzal Chan and Malaika Raza.
Talking to the media, Sherry Rehman said that the attack on the Christian community in Jaranwala was an attack on Pakistan and a writ of the state.
She strongly condemned what happened on August 16 and urged to punish those involved and responsible for the tragedy.

She said she was deeply saddened by hearing that Christian people including children had to spend the night in the nearby fields in fear.
Nair Bukhari said the constitution and religion give rights and protection to minorities. He demanded all churches should be restored and compensated the affected people.
