The Sindh High Court (SHC) summoned all accused on October 1 in the Mir Murtaza Bhutto murder case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

According to the report, SHC conducted a hearing on the appeal filed by the government and Murtaza Bhutto's employee, Noor Muhammad, challenging the acquittal of the accused in the Mir Murtaza Bhutto murder case.

An application was submitted stating that former police officer Wajid Durrani is unwell and unable to appear in court, while the lawyer for Shoaib Suddle requested an exemption from attendance.

The court granted a one-day exemption from appearance for both Shoaib Suddle and Wajid Durrani.

The plaintiff’s lawyer, Abraham Saifuddin Advocate, opposed the requests, arguing that the case has been pending for a long time and should be expedited. The court has summoned all accused to appear on October 1st.

Mir Murtaza Bhutto was killed on September 20, 1996, in Karachi in a reported police encounter. Two cases were registered regarding the incident, and the trial court acquitted the accused.
