The Balochistan government has constituted a joint investigation team (JIT) to probe the murder of a mother and her two young sons in Barkhan district, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

A notification issued by the additional chief secretary home here on Tuesday evening said the JIT had been constituted under Section 1(3) of the Balochistan Tribunals of Inquiry Ordinance, 1969 to investigate the killing of three persons of Marri Tribe in Haji Kot of Barkhan district.

DIG Loralai Division has been named as chairman and convener of the JIT while SSP Investigation Quetta, a representative of Special Branch Barkhan, DC of Barkhan, and any co-opted member are included in the investigation team. The five-member JIT will compile and submit its report within 30 days.

Pertinent to mention, three bodies including a mother and his two sons were found in a well in Barkhan. Reportedly, they were kept in a private prison by Sardar Abdul Rahman Khetran before the assassination. The police confirmed that the victims include the wife of a local namely Khan Mohammad Marri and his two sons. Khetran has been blamed for the murder. However, he rejected the accusation.

Talking to the media, Balochistan's Home Minister Mir Zia Lango said,” We have formed a JIT on the instructions of the Chief Minister.”

The JIT will conduct an impartial investigation into the incident, added by Mir Zia Longo.

He said that the government had directed all commissioners to prepare a detailed report on private prisons operated by the chieftain before the incident. But the commissioners did not identify any private prison, he lamented.
