Jhelum police crack down on kite-sellers, manufactures

At least 20 people, allegedly involved in kite flying and selling, were arrested as a result of Jhelum police’s large-scale crackdown against kite-sellers and manufacturers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The police have also recovered more than 6,000 kites and hundreds of string-rolls from the possession f the apprehended accused.
According to police sources, the operation was intensified on the instructions of IG Punjab because some people were flying kites despite a government ban on the activity.
Separate cases have been registered against accused while further operations are underway to arrest the violators.
