Federal govt approves deployment of army, rangers during Muharram

To maintain law and order across the country, the federal government has approved the deployment of the army and rangers during Muharram.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the Punjab Home Department has given the authority to the DPOs of the districts to fix the date of army deployment.

As per the decision of the Punjab Home Department, DPOs will deploy the army in the districts from the 1st of Muharram to the 10th of Muharram.

The Punjab Home Department has imposed Section 144 across the province.

According to a notification released by the Home Department, pillion riding will be banned on the 9th and 10th of Muharram.

Moreover, there will be a ban on the display of arms and setting up bunkers in houses during the month of Muharram.

Strict action will be taken over hate speech and sloganeering, the Home Department’s notification said.
