Jaya Bachchan condemns Manipur incident

Indian actress-turned-politician Jaya Bachchan Thursday condemned the Kuki women's naked parade in Manipur.

She said she is ashamed of how the state let the beasts go on the rampage.

The wife of veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan said she could not watch the heart-wrenching video of the Kuki women being paraded naked, abused and gang-raped.

She said such a shameful act took place in the month of May but got viral now and nobody said a single word of condemnation in two months.

Jaya, bashing the state said that this is how women are treated under their rule and they say that they have given 50% of seats of the panel to women showing their respect and honor for women.

She said that the way women are treated across the country is very frustrating and she is heartbroken by society’s attitude towards women.
