Clive Madande hit a one-day international career-best 74 as Zimbabwe recovered from a disastrous start to post 249 against the Netherlands on Tuesday in a World Cup Super League match.
The wicketkeeper, with a best score of 22 in three previous ODI appearances, began his innings with the hosts reeling at 98 for seven in Harare.
He put on 70 runs with Wellington Masakadza, then 66 with Richard Ngarava as the tail came to the rescue for Zimbabwe after the Netherlands won the toss.
Madande struck six fours in a 98-ball stand before being caught by captain Scott Edwards off the bowling of Fred Klaassen.
Klaassen took three wickets and Paul van Meekeren two for the tourists.
