Punjab’s Higher Education Department has announced a summer vacation period for all government and semi-government colleges, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.
The announcement confirmed that institutions would be closed from June 1st until the national holiday on August 14th.
Despite the extended break, board and university examinations will proceed according to the previously established schedules.
To further accommodate the sweltering weather conditions, new operational hours have been introduced for the duration of the heatwave.
Effective from May 21st to May 31st, colleges will now open earlier in the day, from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM, with evening shifts adjusted to run from 4 PM to 8 PM.
This decision aims to ensure the well-being of students and faculty during the peak heat hours, reflecting the department's commitment to providing a safe and comfortable learning environment.
