Lahore-Sialkot Motorway gang-rape victim has identified both accused rapists in a police identity parade held at Camp Jail Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel, quoting sources.

The police sources said main accused Abid Malhi and co-accused Shafqat brought in front of the woman victim where she identified both the accused rapists involved in the horrific incident that shocked the whole country and drew widespread condemnation.

Accused Abid Malhi s in police custody while the other accused Shafqat is on physical remand.

Prime accused in Lahore Motorway rape case Abid Malhi was arrested in Manga Mandi on October 12.

According to CIA SP Asim Iftikhar, who was transferred now after having a row with CCPO Omer Sheikh, the main accused Abid Ali was arrested in Manga Mandi after a search operation. However, it emerged that Abid Malhi surrendered to the police on his father’s request.

On September 9, the two accused armed with guns gang-raped the woman while she was waiting for help on the motorway in Gujjarpura area of Lahore. The woman, who was coming to Lahore from Gujranwala, parked her car on the roadside as it ran out of fuel soon after crossing toll plaza.

When she called the National Highways and Motorway Police, she was told that the area did not fall under their jurisdiction. Meanwhile, the armed men appeared there and forced them to leave the car. Later, they took the woman and her children to a nearby deserted place covered by trees where they gang-raped her in front of her children.

The criminals later fled the scene after snatching the cash and other valuable items.
