Sri Lankan Army Commander Lt-Gen HLVM Liyanage called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ) on Friday, ISPR said.

The COAS shed light on Pak-Lankan ties, particularly in the fields of defence and training cooperation, the military media wing said, adding that the Sri Lankan army chief praised the Pakistan Army for its professionalism and successes in ongoing operations for bringing peace and stability to the region.
Earlier, the visiting dignitary laid a wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada. A smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army presented the guard of honour to the Sri Lankan army chief.
He will also witness the passing-out parade at Pakistan Military Academy Kakul tomorrow.
