Turkish consulate to be shifted to diplomatic enclave: Punjab CM

Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi has announced that Turkish Consulate in Lahore will be shifted to the newly-built diplomatic enclave, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
This he said during a meeting with Turkish Consul General Durmus Bastug in Lahore on Friday.
During the meeting, issues of mutual interest, increasing cooperation in various fields and promoting mutual investment were discussed.
The Punjab CM said the peoples of Pakistan and Turkey are tied in a strong bond of brotherhood. It is the need of the hour to further promote relations under the Lahore and Istanbul Sister Cities Agreement, said the CM.
“We want to further develop relations with Turkey in various fields,” said Mohsin Naqvi, adding Turkish investors will be given all possible facilities to invest in Punjab.
A diplomatic enclave is being built on the land of CBD, the consulate of Turkey will also be shifted to the diplomatic enclave, Mohsin Naqvi added.
Mohsin Naqvi also accepted the invitation of the Consul General to participate in the 100-year celebration of the Republic of Turkey.
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi also invited Mayor of Istanbul and Police Chief to visit Lahore.
He said that terrorism is a common global problem, a common strategy is needed to combat it.
On the occasion, Consul General of Turkey thanked Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi for shifting the Consulate to Diplomatic Enclave.
Council General of Turkey said that we will continue to cooperate with the Punjab government in various sectors.
Provincial Ministers Aamir Mir, Azfar Ali Nasir, Inspector General Police, Commissioner Lahore, Secretary Coordination to Chief Minister, Secretary Implementation Chief Minister, Deputy Commissioner and related officials were also present on this occasion.
Punjab CM warns against delay in registration of FIRs
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered the police to register FIRs without delay on the applications of complainants and negligence in registration of FIR will not be tolerated.
Mohsin Naqvi reached Samanabad police station early in the Friday morning.
Information Minister Aamir Mir, Inspector General of Police and CCPO Lahore were also present on the occasion.
During his visit the CM checked the records of the police station and inspected various departments.
He also met with the complainants in the police station and asked about the problems they have to face in police stations.
The CM Mohsin Naqvi also inquired about the cases of the accused, confined in police station cells.
On the occasion he instructed Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) to re-investigate the case on the request of an accused detained on the charge of murder.
The CM ordered to improve the condition of Samanabad police station.
He said funds have been released for the upgradation of police stations and the work will start soon.
