The authorities in United Arab Emirates (UAE) have banned imports of fresh meat from Pakistan through sea route, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

According to a notification issued by the UAE authorities, the ban was triggered after fungus was found in meat imports to the Emirates by a Karachi-based company through the sea route.

The ban will remain in force until October 10. However, there is no ban on meat imports from Pakistan by air.
