Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Qazi Faez Isa said on Thursday that if there were flaws in the Supreme Court’s (SC) verdict in the case of Mubarak Sani, a member of the Ahmadiya community, the court would definitely make corrections, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During the hearing of review petitions filed by the federal and Punjab governments in the case, the CJP said that previously too the court had sought religious scholars’ opinions on the subject and would do this again.

Speaking on the occasion, the advocate general said that the prime minister, National Assembly speaker and members of the parliament had advised that the apex court should be approached in the case.

The chief justice said, “Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman is also here. Let’s see what he has to say on the matter.”

“In fact, we will listen to the viewpoints of all religious scholars,” he added.

A three-member bench of the Supreme Court (SC), headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Qazi Faez Isa, is hearing the case.

Other members on the bench are Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Ameenuddin Khan.

The petitions seek corrections in paragraph 9 of the apex court order.
