Eight killed, 23 injured in boiler explosion at Karachi factory

Six people were killed and 12 others injured when a boiler exploded in a factory near Saba Cinema in North Karachi on Tuesday.

According to rescue personnel, two factory workers were retrieved alive from the rubble of the building. 

Police said that power supply to the locality was shut down as the explosion also brought high-tension power lines down. 

An emergency desk was set up at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital after the incident. 

According to initial reports, the Sindh Rangers said, a boiler exploded at the factory.
