The caretaker ministers said the government have released all protesting Baloch children and women, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
“All children and women have been released. The men whose identification was made have also been released while a few are yet to be identified,” Information Minister Murtaza Solangi said while addressing a press conference along with other ministers.
He added: “Islamabad police IG has been asked to complete the identification process at the earliest.
“A committee was formed to negotiate with the protesters. Fawad Hasan Fawad spoke on behalf of the government.
“The protesters staged a 23-day protest but the government did not take any action. The protestors from Balochistan did not commit violence.
“Local people participating in the demonstration started rioting. The protesters had their faces covered. The case of the people named in the FIR is in court.
The Islamabad police arrested dozens of Baloch men and women last night during a demonstration against enforced disappearances and extra-judicial killings.
Social media is abuzz with posts claiming police manhandled the protesters.
The government committee comprising caretaker federal ministers Murtaza Solangi, Fawad Hassan Fawad and Jamal Shah held talks with the protestors and ordered the release of the arrested women and children immediately,” a news release said.
