Fearing drop in the enrollment of students on account of their ongoing dispute with the cantonment boards (CBs), owners of most of the schools located in Lahore Cantonment have started shifting their campuses to other areas of the city, making parents of these children upset, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

It has been learnt that these schools plan to start next academic sessions at their new campuses rather than old ones.

Parents have already started receiving letters from the administrations of these schools in which they have been intimated about the latest development.

Perturbed over the decision, parents, who now will have to cover long distances to drop their children, have appealed to the Supreme Court (SC) to bar the CBs from going ahead with the closure of these schools.

The decision will particularly create a lot of inconvenience for the parents who also have to go to their workplaces.

It is worth reminding here that the matter of closure of schools in the areas under the military’s control is already sub judice as the SC, on the last hearing of the case on February 3, 2022, had directed the CBs across the country to submit a fresh report on the issue in four weeks’ time.
