Professional Group reinstated as winner of LBA elections

Advocate Rana Intizar Hussain of Professional Group has been reinstated as president of the Lahore Bar Association (LBA) for 2023-24, reported 24NewsHD Tv channel.
A decision to this effect was announced by Supreme Court Bar Association former president Ahsan Bhoon on Wednesday.
He said that there would be no re-election of Lahore Bar Association and the candidates who won the seats during the LBA election held on January 14 had been restored to their respective posts.
A controversy erupted between the Punjab Bar Association (PBA) and Lahore Bar Association (LBA) over the LBA annual election 2023-24.
The Punjab Bar Association announced the postponement of the election in view of the alleged rigging, but the LBA election board rejected the decision of PBA and released the election result.
The members of the Punjab Bar had directed Ahsan Bhawan to take the final decision regarding the re-election a few days ago.
After consulting all the stack holders, Bhoon decided to reinstate the result announced by the LBA board in January.
Advocate Rana Intizar Hussain grabbed 3, 0 46 votes and defeated the candidate of Independent group Munir Hussain Bhatti who secured 2168 votes. Asif Amin Goriya secured the seat of vice president by getting 2057 votes. His close opponent Nadeem Anjum could get 1749 votes. Advocate Malik Kafeel won the seat of the secretary by achieving 3046 votes while his opponent Umar Waraich received 2433 votes. Tahira Shaheen Dilon was declared successful for the post of finance secretary. She gained 2352 votes.
On the occasion, Munir Hussain Bhatti garlanded Rana Intizar with flowers.
