The Counter-Terrorism Department in Sindh has captured two terrorists belonging to Muttahida Qaumi Movement who allegedly have got training from India at the behest of MQM-London, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a press conference at Karachi Civil Lines on Tuesday, CTD DIG Umer Shahid Hamid said that during a major operation in Mirpurkhas last night, the counter-terrorism agency arrested two terrorists who belonged to MQM-London.

The DIG revealed that the arrested terrorists were active in their saboteur activities from 1990 till 2003. The held accused confessed to get training from India along with their other companions. Their objective was to strengthen the network of RAW along the Sindh border. Their main goal was to keep the sleeper cell active along the border.

The terrorists during the grilling disclosed that they were in contact with MQM bigwigs Anis Advocate and Waseh Jalil. It was the responsibility of both Anis and Waseh to send people to India for training. 

DIG Hamid said that RAW gave training to the terrorists who belonged to MQM London. He said that Anis and Waseh Jalil sent their men to India for getting training from RAW in 2001 and 2002. 

The DIG further said that the held terrorist of MQM London Naeem had made sensational revelations during investigation. Naeem confessed to his meeting with Anis Advocate, adding that he got orders from him in Tehran, Hamid added. He said the investigation agency summoned Anis Advocate and grilled him. He informed that the investigators also conducted the forensic audit of Anis’ mobile phones. 

Mr Hamid said that Anis would also be summoned in a couple of days for further investigation. He said the bank transactions and other affairs would also be looked into. He informed that Anis Advocate had been directed not to leave the country till further orders. 

Mr Hamid said that a challan would be submitted against Anis and Waseh Jalil once the investigation was completed. He said Waseh was currently in America and the US government would be requested for his extradition. 

The DIG said the accused informed the investigators that it was the policy of MQM leader Altaf Hussain to send his workers to India for the purpose of training and added that they too had got training in India. The accused said that weapons and other things used to be smuggled out from Mirpur Khas and border area. 

Mr Hamid said that the CTD recovered a large amount of weapons including Dishoka anti-aircraft gun during its operation last night.
