Yet another girl in Arifwala fell victim to the bestiality of a man, highlighting the gravity of the situation in the area in terms of the protection of children’s rights, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.  

Azhar alias Aji, the suspect, lured 12-year-old Urooj Fatima to a deserted place and raped her in the jurisdiction of the City police station.

Soon after having been informed, the police registered an FIR against the youth on the complaint of the girl’s father and arrested him.

Incidents of rape and sodomy are frequently reported from Arifwala, Pakpattan and suburban areas, but due to the lack of interest on the part of the government to put an end to the scourge of child abuse, incidents like these continue to make headlines.
