Performance of 'selected' was better than coalition govt: Shaukat Tarin

Former Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin on Sunday said the performance of the PTI-led government, which they [the current government] had to consider 'selected' was better than that of the coalition government, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a press conference at his residence in Karachi, Shaukat Tarin said during PTI's tenure, GDP was six per cent, adding that remittances and exports were improved and the manufacturing had increased by 14 per cent.
Shaukat Tarin said the current account deficit had narrowed during the regime of the PTI-led government, adding today dollar has crossed the mark of Rs200.
Tarin said during the rule of the coalition government, the dollar has raised by 100 per cent, adding everyone knows who toppled Imran Khan's government.
Tarin took a dig at PM Shehbaz-led government and went on to say the deficit has widened due to the poor performance of the present government, adding that all the officials who performed well have been sacked.
The former finance minister said the country is moving toward bankruptcy, adding the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecution and the whole system needs improvement.
Shaukat Tarin said the successful programs like the health card and Ehsaas program are on record during the regime of Imran Khan's government.
