Lahore High Court has approved the bail plea of the PTI leader after rejecting the order of an anti-corruption court which had suspended the bail plea of Elahi.
Lahore High Court Justice Tanvir Sultan approved the bail of the PTI leader. Parvez Elahi was arrested in 25 October 2023. The court ordered Ealhi to submit surety bonds of half a million rupees to secure his bail and he complied.
Ealhi reached his residence Zahoor Palace after he was released from jail.
In a statement, Elahi thanked Allah for his release and said: “God gave me the strength to remain steadfast. I thank the judges who supported the truth and got me released.”
The PTI president said that the people of Gujarat “had to suffer a lot of abuse and cruelty”. He claimed that PTI’s mandate was stolen in his home city. “We will not talk to Shujaat sahib's children until our mandate is given back to us.”
He reaffirmed his unwavering support for PTI founder Imran Khan. "I was with Imran Khan, I am with him, and, God willing, I will remain with him," he declared.
Elahi also thanked those who prayed for him and stood by him during difficult times. He criticised the treatment meted out to him and his party workers in Gujrat, saying, “We were subjected to injustice and oppression, and our mandate was stolen.”
