Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi has said efforts are being made to complete all the projects by January 31, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
Talking to the media in Gujranwala where he presided over the caretaker cabinet meeting and took his team to a visit to the expressway and medical college.
The chief minister shed light on his government's feats and specifics to ensure better public service delivery.
He told reporters that for the first time in history, a provincial cabinet meeting was held in Gujranwala.
The expressway project will be completed in two months, he said, adding that the promise of building a university in Gujranwala will be fulfilled in eight months.
A 100-bed children's hospital has been inaugurated in Gujranwala and it will be made a 200-bed health facility by January.
He said: “We are trying to get Gujranwala Children's Hospital affiliated to Lahore. The burn unit in Gujranwala will also be made operational by January 31 and the district will have a vegetable market and milkmen colony. He also announced two model cemeteries in Gujranwala.
He told the businesspersons at the Chamber of Commerce that next government will take up the industrial zone project for Gujranwala. Earlier in the day, the provincial cabinet that met with CM Naqvi in the chair unveiled an array of development projects including the construction of 24 new classrooms for DPS Gujranwala walso were approved.
Acknowledging the contributions of the government employees, the cabinet decided to enhance financial assistance for families of those who passed away during service.
The chief minister outlined plans for a new cardiac hospital in Lahore and the replacement of emergency and trauma centres at Jinnah Hospital, Lahore with the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology. Funds were also allocated for the revival of a CT scan machine that had been inactive for seven years.
The cabinet’s decisions include the revision of inspection fees for transport vehicles, additional funds for the construction and maintenance of the Sargodha-Mianwai Road, and the cabinet’s directive to improve recovery in the irrigation department.
