Maryam Nawaz tells authorities to complete PIC-II at earliest

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Sunday directed the authorities to make the Punjab Institute of Cardiology-II (PIC-II) functional as soon as possible.
During a visit to the under-construction healt facility, Maryam said, “Make PIC-II functional as soon as possible.” She reviewed the ongoing construction activities in various sections of PIC-II like installation of dry partition wall and HVAC.
She said that pressure of patients on the Punjab Institute of Cardiology will be reduced after completion of PIC-II. She also reviewed the quality of construction material and other construction-related issues.
The chief minister said, "Implementation of a plan to provide complete cardiology facilities in every district has started.” She noted,”By introducing card system for pediatric heart surgery, operations of hundreds of children have been completed quite easily.”
On this occasion, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif was briefed about the PIC-II project by Punjab Infrastructure Development Authority CEO Shah Mir Iqbal. She appreciated his efforts and gave him guidelines to improve the design. She directed the authorities to provide the machinery required for the PIC-II project.
The chief minister was apprised that the Punjab Institute of Cardiology-II project consists of 250 beds, and state-of-the-art hybrid operation theaters will be built in it. She was briefed informed that emergency, surgical & medical units and ICUs will also be built in PIC-II. She was briefed that more than 90% of the gray structure of PIC-II has been completed.
