Punjab approves Rs21.5b for development projects

In the 40th session of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP), chaired by Chairman P&D Board Barrister Nabil Ahmed Awan Monday, funds totalling Rs21.5 billion were approved for various developmental initiatives across Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Key allocations included Rs12.62 billion designated to enhance the Integrated Command, Control, and Communication (IC3) System for Punjab Police. The improvements will bolster police response capabilities in Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and Rawalpindi.
Additionally, Rs6 billion was allocated for green energy programs, and Rs3 billion for the Chief Minister's Skilled Punjab Program aimed at boosting vocational training.
An amount of Rs860 million was also approved for the remodeling of the busy Jika Gali Chowk in Murree to ease traffic congestion. Secretary P&D Board Dr Asif Tufail, Chief Economist Masood Anwar, and other departmental representatives were in attendance to discuss these crucial initiatives aimed at enhancing infrastructure and resource management across the province.
