Gohar Ejaz-led committee to review cases of lifting ban on import of prohibited items

The government has decided to form a committee to review the cases of lifting the ban on the import of prohibited items, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Tuesday.
The committee will be headed by Dr. Gohar Ejaz, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, and will include the Minister of Law and the Minister of Planning as its members.
The committee will examine the cases under the Import and Export Policy Orders 2022 and will consider them on a case-by-case basis.
The committee will also have the authority to hear appeals under Section 21 of the Trade Organizations Act, 2013. The Ministry of Commerce will provide secretariat support for the committee, according to sources.
