As the time for the homecoming of former prime minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif after four years of stay in London is approaching fast, so is the speed at which caravans from different parts of the country are heading towards Lahore to give him a warm reception, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

People from different cities of the country, including Peshawar, Karachi and Rawalpindi, are on their way to the Punjab capital.

The special train bearing pictures of the former prime minister that had left Karachi yesterday is expected to reach its destination soon. As many as 2,000 people are travelling in it.

Another train, carrying PML-N workers and supporters, including females, from Umarkot Sindh, is also on its way to Lahore.

The party workers are excited and getting impatient to catch a glimpse of their leader who had been released from jail for treatment for a four-week period but returned four years later.

Similarly, a large number of party workers and local leaders are heading towards Lahore in the form of processions from different Punjab cities.

Hundreds of PML-N workers have left Hafizabad for Lahore, while the party workers from Sarai Alamgir are heading to Lahore in two groups, one led by District General Secretary Raja Muhammad Aslam and the other by ex-MNA Malik Jameel Awan.

A heavy police contingent was present at the time of their departure from the city.

Caravans from six different points have left Jhelum for the provincial capital.

Likewise, Raja Riaz, former leader of the opposition in the National Assembly, is leading a large procession of PML-N workers from Faisalabad.

The situation is no different in Sheikhupura where, too, there is a great enthusiasm ahead of PML-N supremo’s arrival after four years of self-imposed exile.
