Sister cities declared as Punjab, Ningxia govts sign agreements

Punjab government has signed two different agreements with the government in Chinese province of Ningxia, declaring two cities of Punjab and two cities of Ningxia as ‘sister cities’, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As per the agreement Punjab’s city Bahawalpur and Chinese city Wusong have been declared sister cities.
Moreover, Punjab’s Sahiwal and Chinese city of Zhongwei have also been declared as sister cities.
The documents of the agreement to grant the status of Sahiwal, Bahawalpur and Wusong, Zhongwei as sister cities were signed at a ceremony in Ningxia in presence of Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
On behalf of the Punjab Government, Minister for Industry and Agriculture SM Tanveer signed the Sister Cities Agreements.
Provincial ministers SM Tanveer, Azfar Ali Nasir, Ibrahim Hasan Murad, Secretary Finance and higher authorities of Ningxia government were present at the ceremony.
Agreements are aimed at maintaining relations between with the Chinese cities and the Punjab’s cities.
Exchanges and cooperation of delegations will be promoted along with enhancing mutual understanding.
The sister cities will support each other in economy and trade, science and technology.
The sister cities will also cooperate for the promotion of education, agriculture, health, culture and tourism.
Senior officials of the sister cities and relevant departments will arrange mutual visits and exchange of expertise, text of the agreement revealed.
Moreover, cooperation will be done in all sectors to promote friendly relations.
In this regard, Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi welcomed the agreement and termed it as a welcome development for Pakistan-China relations.
Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi thanked the party secretary and senior officials of Ningxia.

Punjab CM Mohsin Naqvi visits Ningxia Medical University in China
Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi visited Ningxia Medical University China on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During his visit the Vice-Chancellor of Ningxia Medical University and senior doctors of the faculty gave a briefing about education and research being carried out at the Ningxia Medical University.
Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, senior officials of Ningxia Government and Pakistani Embassy officials were also present on the occasion.
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi inspected various departments of Ningxia Medical University.
The CM Punjab also observed the medical education system of the university and made a special review of the research and development department in the medical university.
During his visit he met the faculty members of Ningxia Medical University.
Chief Minister also met Pakistani students studying in Ningxia Medical University.
He praised the innovation in the Department of Medicine in Ningxia Medical University.
He said on the occasion that innovation in medical education is the need of the hour.
Ningxia Medical University is doing excellent work in terms of medical research said Mohsin Naqvi.
The CM said that together with Ningxia Medical University, we will raise the standard of medical education in Punjab.
