Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai, a controversial cleric from Peshawar's historic Masjid Qasim Ali Khan, once again divided the nation by declaring that the holy month of Ramazan will start on Friday.
He made this announcement hours after Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee declared that no moon sighting was observed from any part of the country today.
The cleric said his decision was based on 9 evidences gathered by the mosque.
